Whereabout is a personal location-tracking app that records where you have been throughout the day. This privacy policy describes what data the app collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
Whereabout collects the following data while location tracking is enabled:
No other data is collected. The app does not access your contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera.
All data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Data never leaves your device — there are no servers, no cloud sync, and no backups managed by this app.
If you use iCloud Backup, your device's local data (including app data) may be included in your personal iCloud Backup, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Whereabout does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no crash-reporting services embedded in the app.
Whereabout requests access to your location. For background tracking to work, the app requests "Always" location permission. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Revoking permission stops new data from being recorded; existing data on your device is not affected.
Data is retained on your device until you delete the app. Deleting the app removes all associated data from your device. There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of.
Whereabout is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If this privacy policy changes materially, the updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised date at the top.
